Leilana Amenta, Jackson State University kicker, is the first woman ever to score in a competitive HBCU game.
Armenta scored three extra-points in Saturday’s 40-14 win over Arkanasas Pine Bluff by the Tigers.
Armenta made history, a soccer player who plays at Jackson State. He did this in the second quarter by “capping off a touchdown drive which included a 25 yard Jacobian Morgan passing to DJ Stevens, with 5:35 left before halftime,” ESPNreports.
We were not aware that it would happen. And we are very excited. Brandy Armenta told The Clrion-Ledger that Leilani’s mom, Brandy, started screaming because she had no idea. “My daughter didn’t know she would be playing in today’s game. “We are beyond thrilled.”
