Howard University Alumna Sidnee Michel Has had an impressive media career — from being first Black woman on camera to report for Forbes Magazine to serving as lead anchor for Complex’s finance, culture and business channel to being the Deputy editor for Travel Noire (the largest Black travel outlet worldwide).
She is now the Senior Digital Editor for Black Enterprise, and she has launched a new interview series called “Lights, Camera, Business” with Black Enterprise.
As the senior digital editing at Black Enterprise, and the host of “Lights, Camera, Business”, I meet with the biggest names in business to discuss the intersection between entertainment and business. Michelle’s duties at Black Enterprise include editing, writing, and managing a team to ensure that our online content is of the highest quality.
The premiere of “Lights, Camera, Business With Sidnee Michel” will take place on Wednesday, 1 November on all Black Enterprisesocials. Rico Love, Grammy-winning producer and songwriter, is the first guest.
Michelle, as a celebrity reporter, has interviewed some of the most notable figures in today’s entertainment, sports and politics, including Eddie Murphy. Salma Haek, Jake Gyllenhaal. Tracy Ellis Ross. Samuel L. Jackson. Michelle Obama. Cardi B. Oprah.
Michelle’s career flourished when she returned to Howard University, where she worked for many media outlets and campus newspapers.
Michelle said that her Howard experience was a great one. “It really helped me come out of my shell,” she said. When I arrived on campus, the confidence and encouragement I received from the Howard community allowed me to flourish not only immediately but also personally.
As one of the youngest Howard University Entertainment Group Industry Mentors, an Amazon Studios-funded initiative, Los Angeles-based Journalist continues to give back and share her passion as she serves as a speaker and moderator for numerous events centered around Black lifestyle, culture, and business.
Michelle plans to travel the world and continue to build her media empire.
